I've been wondering where those pix come from myself but haven't asked figuring I'd jinx the constant stream from Gearz.

I love 'em

Since my wife and I leave Thursday for a Porsche trip that will include traveling the 101 through Oregon on our way to the Port Townsend Jazz Festival I'd appreciate suggestions on things to see/do/where to stay if you have any.

Gearz were do you find all these?

I had buddy that past away a few months ago and the relative's said that they found a box of photos. there of a drag strip here on the Oregon coast Port Orford. it ran late 50s to late 60, I can remember lots of old dragsters running. i'll post them if I can get my hands on them.

well Bill the southern coast line is beautiful until you get to Port Orford. then there's not much to see until you get to Bandon. then there's old town with an art gallery and other little shops. they also have a small chees factory if your interested. about 2mi. north of town is the Bandon Dunes golf courses, world famous if your a golfer. next is Coos Bay about 30mi. north of Bandon, that's were I live. if you send me an email I will give you my phone no., just incase you have a problem I'll be here for you. jjdarlington@charter.net from Coos Bay to Florence there is not much to see. after Florence your back out on the cost line. next is Newport be sure to stop at the marine aquarium. I forgot to mention Coos Bay has a casino as does Florence both are nice with nice accommodations at Coos Bay. the rest of the coast from Florence is nice. you'll just have to take your time and look around. I could talk all night here, all in all I would try and schedule my time so you could pass by from Port Orford to Florance in one day. there is just not much to see. when you get up north you should cut over to McMinnville and do the air museum. then your just a few minutes from Gary Emory's place, if you never been there you must stop. he's a great guy and i'm sure you would enjoy his place.
