      • Wow, I hope the lurkers beyond the obvious Core of Dissidents are keeping up with the latest R-debacle. Be aware that the Spin can be dizzying....it's up to a BS-5 by now!

The latest quote from a trustee is: "Adam, you are 100% correct, and I agree wholeheartedly.
BUT!!! Since the Registry is being sued, everything has changed."

Changed? More sharing of information, friendliness, openness and transparency?

Well no, but it's a laugh a minute for someone like me who has watched the Registry devolve into this latest 'stuff' over 38 years, believing all that time that the name of the magazine and 'club' was because there was some sort of interest in finding out as much as possible about ALL the 356 cars as possible and sharing that information with like-minded enthusiasts. Now, it's a 40 year 'misunderstanding.' Sad, but hilariously funny in a bizarre sort of way, given the rationale for a backward change in "policy and ownership."

Could it be that there are asses that need to be covered now that were assumed to be just fine for years? Are their privacy parts showing?

There must a fault. Blame must be placed! Is it those asking questions? Lawyers? Former volunteers that gave countless hours to every aspect of that particular 356 community? No? Who must take the hit for these flaps?

Most funny/sad is that it must be the fault of someone/anyone other than The Leadership. I'm expecting that a random member will be terminated every hour until the perpe-traitor comes forward or is ratted out....

          • Members of the R may be interested in the application for membership used in the past. Past issues are archived on the R web site here:
            http://porsche356registry.org/magazine/magazine-archives.html

Have a look at, for example, issue 30-1, from March/April 2007. Information about cars is requested there with instructions to forward to Bill Block. In the archives on that site the back covers appear to be missing from many issues. Those wishing to do more research can probably look at their own to see what vehicle/ownership info was or was not requested by the R in the past. The R has claimed that confidentiality was promised in those membership applications. Go ahead and read them on your own - if you are interested.

As a card carrying "ambulance chasing scum of the earth" according to trustee ratified postings, I am sometimes called upon to point out inconsistencies in witnesses' testimony. I would note that in the VIN thread the 8th trustee denies a lawsuit and the first one blames a lawsuit for what they are doing. Draw your own conclusions - sometimes my work is easy. Sometimes comedy writes itself.

              • Jack:

Thanks for posting. When the brown noser in chief posted that there were rumors the judge had laughed at Steve's request my wife Rosemary specifically asked him to name the persons who had informed him of those rumors. http://porsche356registry.org/356talk/1/34239.html?start=15 [scroll to the bottom of that page]. Rather than answer her question, since if the "rumors" were true it would suggest a problem with the legal process, he responded with a crude sexual innuendo that Rosemary did not find in the least bit humorous [same link but top of next page]. Obviously he just made up "the rumors." I have no idea why the trustees endorse such stuff [see Skirmants post in same thread complimenting the brown noser and urging him to run for trustee].

Our obfuscator then attributed to Rosemary legal knowledge simply because she is married to a lawyer. If marriage imparted knowledge of one spouse's field to the other his wife Jean would be a proctologist.

I likewise hope Justin can insert a LOL button.

The brown noser in chief recently observed that the wealthy old fool had ignored the advice of both interested and independent parties to drop his efforts. Said brown noser apparently failed to notice, and, sadly, so have all the subscribers/members, that no fewer than four independent parties (in the USA we call those parties "judges") have in fact agreed with Steve. If nothing else that "wealthy old fool" is ahead on points.

The accuser's flame, happily, has not been ignored by those in power. Nope, they jumped into action. The flame has been endorsed as eloquent by trustee for life Skirmants who has urged the brilliant ad hominem attacker to join him as a trustee. Has he no decency?

                    • So I wonder when the Registry is going to tell us members about the latest on the lawsuit? I also wonder how much of our dues dollars will go to paying the legal fees? Any guesses?

                      • Pat,

                        Good questions.

Of course, actually there are two suits. One in Ohio state court against the Registry and on behalf of myself and Registry members. The second is in federal court in Ohio against a number of individuals as defendants and with me as the Plaintiff.

I have no real idea how the insurance companies or the Registry or private funders are handling.

I do know that the Trustees have fiduciary obligations to the Registry and its members and, I believe, that those obligations including keeping the membership informed as to significant matters such as these.

Pat (or, for that matter, any other Registry member):

Good questions. I am no longer a member, but, having just driven to various locations an old friend who unfortunately is completely entitled to the handicapped license plate on his car, I'd sincerely appreciate it if you would bring to the attention to your fellow Registry members the sort of attack permitted and apparently encouraged on the disabled on the Registry forum. My mom was disabled near the end of her life, my sister IS disabled as is my wife and I attended law school with the first quadriplegic who succeeded in passing the California bar from whom I learned a lot about the struggles he and others afflicted with disabilities face. There may be reasons for questioning the activities of the government or even the terms of the Americans with Disabilities Act, but, it seems to me that a car club should not be a forum for such stuff. I asked Rosemary, a member, to post, but, every time she does she suffers sexual and other loathsome harassment and has declined.

White Sands Nat. Mon. is not too far from Carlsbad.

Note the Federal mandated big city "wheel chair ramp" at the entrance sign for Carlsbad. Years ago that park entrance road-side location would just be standard issue dirt and weeds possibly with a few noisy grass hoppers.

                          • An inquiry was made this am on the R Forum as to the status of the litigation. That question prompted a rapid response saying it was very early and updates are on the members' part of the site. Neither is true, of course.

That's actually not what Wes said.

                              He said,
"As I suggested previously (and as stated by the Registry very early in the lawsuit game),

"Go to the top of the first page and click on "News & Events". Topic 4 will take you to the court system in Ohio and gives you instructions for a "lawsuit update"."

                              Wes"

He gives instructions on how to go to the Ohio Courts system website through the Registry site to read up on the latest in the lawsuit.
Mis-information is one of the big problems in this whole thing, we all need to make sure we are providing accurate information about what someone else is saying or not saying.

                              • Guys,

What is also interesting is that President Dunn and others who watch here are now online on the R Forum. They know very well the status of the litigation as do those of us here. I wonder why the membershipis kept from the facts.
