Carrera Speedster with crated spare engine

Four score and seven years ago...OK maybe it was about 20 years ago, I could swear I read an article in probably the Registry Magazine or Pano about a higly original Carrera Speedster that was being sold by the man's widow with two engines, one in the car and one in a crate, never used. As I recall, the car was located in the midwest. Did I dream this? Perhaps it was not a Carrera but I distinctly remember the Speedster had a spare engine.

I don't know or would reconginze the car. I was hoping I'd jog someone's memory who could find the artilcle. I definitely read an article about it. Vance, please tell us about the one you posted. Thanks.

Bernie Switkes. I believe I have the article from Panorama about how he converted the car to a Carrera with all factory ordered parts. I knew him.
