    • Re Sauter KS-11; Walter:

To clarify---this is the only Sauter built one we list in the book as it was the only one with 4-cam.

I'd have to do more research but I think not plastic and not aluminum.

              • Hello Everyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to let you know that we corresponded with George Keck who raced RS Keck. He helped us confirm information about his cars.

We now know that Mr. Keck's 550-0070 was not in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon) on 3 August 1958 for the Shelton race. On page 612, we will delete 550-0070 (listed in red font) for the pilot named West (this is not Jack West). We will continue to work on the correct chassis nr. for this pilot in this race. For now, the chassis nr. will remain unidentified.

George Keck has been an exceptional resource and we thank him for his help.

In a previous post and Errata, we noted that all Cooper-Porsche MK8R races will be deleted since this car did not have a 4-cam motor.

                Best regards,

                Vietta

                  • Is George Keck related to Howard B Keck who was involved in champ car racing at roughly the same time? I think Howard was from Los Angeles and also involved in horse racing.

                    • Hello Everyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to respond to several comments about the Sauter Porsche that we list as KS-11. With the photos and information from Porschinelle and JG we have been able to get a more complete understanding about the Sauter Porsches. See this link#25769

                        • For such a unique number of Wallace's, I have never seen his illusive 550RS of the same number - did he really own one?

                              • Hello Everyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to respond to AMP's question about any relationship between George Keck and Howard B. Keck. See post #25801

In a conversation with George Keck, we learned that they were not relatives. Howard B. Keck raced Thoroughbred Horses and owned an auto racing team. Howard Keck asked Bill Vukovich to join his team. Here's a link to an article on ESPN that notes the Keck/Vukovich team and their Indianapolis 500 racing history. Vukovich/Keck Team
