  • Antenna mounting

I am putting a 1961 roadster back together and I have a question about the antenna mounting arrangement.

Isnthe antenna only stabilized at the top where it penetrates the fender? Mine is installed but it seems a bit wobbly since the bottom is not fixed to anything.

Just want to make sure I am not missing something.

    Thanks!

My 63 T6B has this bracket, which I think is to stabilize the antenna:

Yes. There is aluminum "P" clamp that goes around the lower antenna tube and ties into that bracket. With a screw If a dealer installed it originally, the clamp might be screwed to the skin inside the door Jam.
      Pushed around since 1966.

Thanks for the help. I have seen some of those clamps shown above and also seen some people solve the problem with what looks like generic galvanized steel hangar straps (holes pre cut) like you can buy at Home Depot. Just sort of wrap and screw to the inner door area.

I will get something figured out.

        Thanks!

the clamp looks like the distributor condenser clamp, just larger. Its a standard item, measure the diameter of the bottom of the antenna mast and the - number is in 1/16's of an inch . 5/8" = ms 21xxx-10 clamp.
