Dave:
Sorry we didn't get to meet Char. She looks great. Next time we'll all meet. I hope to get Rosemary up Wheeler some time next summer in between car shows and what have you. Hope both of you can join us. We'll do the Williams Lake route I did in August, possibly as a very short backpack to assist Rosemary.

Thanks Pat. Uh, about welding....Cha came out in the shop a few years ago when I was welding and asked if I could teach her to do it. Great idea thought I! Husband and wife 356 welding team. What could possibly be more romantic? Within 15 minutes, she had grabbed the rod from the wrong end without her gloves, and had a piece of slag burn through her shoe, sock, and toe. Of course these are little things we dudes don't even pause to think about. Just life. But women have a strange perspective, tending to over-react in such situations. She has left the welding to me ever since.

Those skinny girls are a good 15 miles from the nearest In N Out where we Californians go to bulk up. Thanks to the Double Double I'm sporting a 12 pack and not a 6 pack over my belt.
Sorry to hear the lodge has departed the Genslers.
I'm keeping Rosemary on a vigorous training program so that she can carry our gear.
Pat: I should have looked you up. The trip to Maryland was a lot of fun and Rosemary much enjoyed her 70th birthday. We had great weather and she really enjoyed seeing her family. We kind of loafed and really didn't do any car things. We had hoped to go to the new Smithsonian exhibit and were there when it opened but everything was sold out for weeks so we didn't make it. We very much enjoyed our time in Annapolis, our time with our daughter who was also in town and Camden Yards. The Babe Ruth museum is worth seeing if you have any interest in baseball, which we very much do although as I type this after just getting home from Oktoberfest Kershaw is getting hammered and the Dodgers are about to be out.Bill Sampson
